Richard Dimitri was born on 27 June 1942 in Yonkers, New York, USA. He was an actor and writer, known for Johnny Dangerously (1984), Daddy Dearest (1993) and Let It Ride (1989). He was married to Christianne Engs and Myra Cohen. He died on 18 December 2025 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

His son John, who was born with a rare congenital heart defect, died in 2017 at the age of 19.

Was of Syrian descent. He identified as an Arab Christian.
