- Aleksandr Digmelov was born on October 22, 1884 in Tiflis, Russian Empire [now Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia]. He was a cinematographer and director, known for Giorgi Saakadze (1942), Ukanaskneli djvarosnebi (1933) and Arsena (1937). He died on March 31, 1958 in Tbilisi, USSR [now Republic of Georgia].
- Aleqsandre Digmelov was the pioneer of Georgian cinema. With his father David Digemalshvili, he started to distribute foreign short films around the country. In 1908 they started to produce their own films in small studio of Sopio Ivanitskaya. He was cimematographer on the first Georgian feature film, Qristine (1916) by Aleqsandre Tsutsunava.
