- Owns his own recording label, Absolute Records, which is a Christian label.
- Played lead guitar in Prince's backing band, the Revolution, from 1979-1983.
- After leaving the Revolution, he formed his own short-lived band, the Modernaires, and toured in support of Billy Idol.
- His trademark guitar solo for "Little Red Corvette" ranked #64 on Guitar World's list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Solos.
