Years after the film ended, I was having lunch with a prominent banker, as I was in deep trouble getting financing for a big, complicated real estate project. Into the restaurant walked David. Before I saw him coming, David was in our booth with his arm around me, telling Lafayette Escadrille stories. Needless to say, at long last I got my project financed.
