Biography

Renuka Devi was born in 1918 in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, British India [now India]. She was an actress, known for Naya Sansar (1941), Natun Tirtha (1964) and Bhabi (1938). She died in 1989 in Karachi, Pakistan.

Wrote her autobiography in 1982 called The Uprooted Sappling, which discussed the life of a literary person in British India - specially Lucknow, journalism education and work in Lucknow, married life with husband in Bombay, Hindi movie industry, migration to Pakistan, adjusting to Karachi, working on TV.

Her real name was Khursheed Mirza.
