Daughter of Marathi superstar Raja Gosavi.

Married to actor Sai Ballal.

Debuted in Marathi film Asla Navra Nako Ga Bai 1977 as Shama Gosavi which had her father as hero.

In 1978 at the age of 18 Shama married Kiran Despande and had two daughters with him.Kiran passed away in 2000 due to prolonged illness.A widowed Shama then married her Kutumb (2001) serial co star Sai Balal.They were playing husband and wife in the serial.
