- Hans Deppe was born on November 12, 1897 in Berlin, Germany. He was a director and actor, known for Der Pfarrer von Kirchfeld (1955), Narren im Schnee (1938) and Solange noch die Rosen blüh'n (1956). He died on September 23, 1969 in West Berlin, West Germany.

Made his reputation in the 1920's as comic and character actor, by the end of the decade forming his own troupe of young actors and co-founding the cabaret "Die Katakombe" in Berlin. A noted writer-director from 1934, he is credited with popularising the "Heimatfilm" genre. In addition, he wrote scripts for puppet theatre.
