- After meeting Craig Barron in 1986, Demkowicz and Barron joined talents and co-founded Matte World in 1988, one of the earliest of visual effects studios in the U.S., later renaming it Matte World Digital. Demkowicz owned half interest in the company until July, 2007. Her title was Founder, Owner and Visual Effects Producer.
Demkowicz is a contributor to the book "The Power of Miracle Thinking" by Randy Peyser. - Krystyna Demkowicz is the first known credited American women visual effects producer in film, having worked on 84 films and numerous commercials since 1988, starting in her capacity as visual effects producer and executive in charge of visual effects with Matte World.
