Biography

Claude Demetri was born on August 3, 1916 in Bath, Maine, USA. He was a writer and actor, known for On the Road (2012), Nowhere Boy (2009) and King Creole (1958). He died on May 1, 1988 in New York City, New York, USA.

In 1958, Demetrius composed two songs for the soundtrack for Elvis Presley's 1958 film King Creole. He co-wrote "Dixieland Rock" with Fred Wise but alone wrote "Hard Headed Woman." Both songs were part of the record album but "Hard Headed Woman" was also released as a 45rpm single that went to No. 1 on the Billboard music charts.
