- In 1953, his wife, novelist and screenwriter Viña Delmar, revealed to a reporter from "The New York Times Book Review", that all her work had been done in collaboration with him. She said: "When we're working, we discuss the plot a long time. I write a draft in longhand. Then my husband puts it through the typewriter, changing as he goes."
