Biography

Aramís Delgado is a Cuban theater, television, and film actor with a career spanning 7 decades.

In 1964, he made his film debut in the Cuban-Soviet production I Am Cuba (1964). Other notable film appearances include the films Lucia (1968), Pon tu pensamiento en mí (1996), Behavior (2014) and Corazón azul (2021).

Between 1968 and 1969, he continued acting with the *Los Doce* troupe and Teatro Estudio (remaining with the latter until 1983). He trained at the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), and was also associated with the International School of Film and Television (EICTV). He worked with Lubos Pistorius, theater director Yuri Lyubimov, Adela Escartín, and Vicente Revuelta, among others. Delgado performed in nearly 80 theatrical productions, both domestic and international. He also appeared on national television in soap operas such as *Magdalena*, *Entre mamparas*, *Si me pudieras querer*, *Las huérfanas de la Obrapía*, and *El año que viene*, among others.Throughout his career, he participated in various theater and cultural festivals, including the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, the International Theater Festival of Iberian Expression, and the Berlin International Film Festival and performed abroad in countries across Europe and the Americas, such as Bulgaria, Russia, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Venezuela, Brazil, and Puerto Rico.

He has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including an acting award in 1982; recognition from the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in 1990; the Raúl Gómez García Medal from the Cuban Ministry of Culture; and the National Theater Award in 2023, among others. He is regarded as one of the most significant figures in the Cuban theater scene.
