Orlando Delbert is a National Emmy Award-winning and nominated creator and the founder of the New Hollywood Generation and Hollywood, Unapologetic!, a podcast, YouTube series, and expanding body of work dedicated to giving the next generation an honest look at how the entertainment industry actually operates. He has held roles on hundreds of productions seen and heard internationally. For decades, Delbert operated across disciplines as a producer, strategist, creative architect, and designer, accumulating a level of access and institutional knowledge the industry is designed not to allow. A disabled artist whose career spans motion design, animated graphic packages, and transmedia storytelling, Delbert built the New Hollywood Generation from the ground up as both a creative framework and a survival guide for independent creators navigating an industry that rarely explains itself.

Family Legacy & Artistic Roots: Delbert is the son of two foundational pioneers in Hispanic theatrical and television history. His father, Edy Sánchez, was a photojournalist, master marionette builder, and theatrical producer who co-founded the historic Dumé Spanish Theater in Greenwich Village in 1969 alongside Herberto Dumé and José Corrales. His mother, Nancy Delbert, was a pioneering television director, puppeteer, and master of traditional shadow-puppetry. Historical records from UNIMA-USA and documented creative partnerships with 1960s peers, including María Antonia Fariñas, verify her early leadership and influence in Cuban children's television. Renowned for her expertise in rare Chinese shadow puppetry (sombras chinescas), she headline and produced highly popular television programming on the island. Following her refusal to allow her work to be utilized for political indoctrination by the Castro regime, she relocated to Spain and continued theatrical work there before moving to New York.

In exile, she established The Children’s Hispanic Shadow Puppet Theatre of New York, where she introduced the specialized shadow-puppet medium to the city's theatrical landscape, and brought her productions to the American Museum of Natural History in the 1970s. Historical clippings and evidence of her family's New York theatrical footprint are actively preserved within the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (Billy Rose Theatre Division). Delbert began his own entertainment career at age four performing within her troupe, carrying this lineage of fierce artistic independence directly into the New Hollywood Generation movement.

    • Quotes
Entertainment is an industry built upon the dreams of many --- and most of the slaves who've built it will never see their dreams turn into fruition. It's an industry built on the great façade of a perceived reality, built upon the backs and lackluster egos of the desperate and undirected.
