Biography

Chris Del Conte is the Global Head of VFX for Amazon Studios, culminating from 25+ years of VFX Production experience delivering high-end work on over 95 feature, television, stereo conversion and special venue projects. Chris most recent role was working for Amazon, but on the AWS side, engaging and educating Los Angeles based VFX, animation, AR/VR and gaming companies about all the benefits that come with cloud computing, virtual workstations and other production based AWS offerings.

Before AWS, he was the EP for Shade VFX in Los Angeles working on several projects such as Justice League and the hit series Lost in Space. Before that, Chris was the Stereo Producer for Disney Studios tent pole franchise entry Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Before that, as VP of Production at Legend he oversaw feature 3D Conversions, including Robert Zemeckis' The Walk, Sony's Goosebumps and Disney's The Finest Hours. While there, he also helped establish the newly launched VFX and Virtual Reality divisions and successfully oversaw new projects in both.

Previously Chris was responsible for establishing a 3D conversion Business Unit for Technicolor that orchestrated the conversion of DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda. Prior to that, at Prime Focus he held multiple roles including Senior VFX Producer, Managing Director and VP of Business Development. While at Prime Focus, he also oversaw Prime's VFX work on James Cameron's Avatar and conversion work on Star Wars: Episode 2 and Episode 3 as well as the original 1939 Wizard of Oz conversion.

In his many years in VFX and Production, he has played a key role in refining and innovating pipelines and workflows at the VFX facilities noted above as well as Centropolis, Cinesite, Pinnacle Studios, Frantic Films and Digital Dimension. During his time at Digital Dimension, he also won an Emmy as VFX Producer for Outstanding Graphic Design for FOX's Super Bowl XXXIX Opener. He also received an Emmy nomination in Outstanding Visual Effects for Digital Dimension's work on HBO's Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.
