Donna Deitch was born on June 8, 1945 in San Francisco, California, USA. She is a director and editor, known for Desert Hearts (1985), Heroes (2006) and Angel on My Shoulder (1998).

Friend of Gwen Welles.

She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with MA art, and at Los Angeles in film.

Her mother Eleanor Green was a Hungarian, and died in the mid-70s.
