Biography

From the late 1980s he was also active as a pop singer. He recorded nine albums from 1988 to 2010 with songs written by himself together with important authors such as Cristiano Malgioglio, Corrado Castellari, Massimiliano Pani, Maurizio Vandelli, Marco Ferradini, Pino D'Angiò and Dario Baldan Bembo.

After completing his high school studies in Bologna Dei moved to Rome to pursue an acting career.

After several minor appearances, he debuted in a main role in 1967, in the Massimo Franciosa's teen romantic comedy "Pronto... c'è una certa Giuliana per te". His career was later characterized by several other main roles, but always in B-movies and low-budget films, notably the title role in the horror film "Patrick Still Lives".

Gianni Dei was an Italian actor and singer.

In 1998, more than thirty years after the film "Pronto... c'è una certa Giuliana per te", he collaborated again with Mita Medici on the single Ma che fiesta, performed as a duet by the two, for which a video clip was also made which saw them together again on the set.
