- Didier Decoin was born on March 13, 1945 in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, France. He was a writer and director, known for The Count of Monte Cristo (1998), I... For Icarus (1979) and The King, the Squirrel and the Grass Snake (2010). He died on August 5, 2026 in Villejuif, Val-de-Marne, France.

- A former journalist at "France-Soir" and "Le Figaro", he began a successful career as a writer, winning the "Prix Goncourt" in 1977 for "John l'Enfer". Since 1995, he is a member of the "Académie Goncourt".
