Biography

Alain Decaux was born on July 23, 1925 in Lille, Nord, France. He was a writer and producer, known for Les Misérables (1982), Three Colors: Blue (1993) and J'ai tué Raspoutine (1967). He was married to Micheline Pelletier and Madeleine Parisy. He died on March 27, 2016 in Paris, France.

Has supported Lionel Jospin's 2002 presidential campaign.

Historian well known as a historical storyteller, as president of the society of Friends of Alexandre Dumas, he gave one of the 2 speeches when Dumas' ashes were transferred to the Pantheon on 30 November 2002.
