Biography

Christian Debney is a British-born filmmaker and visual effects artist based in Sydney, Australia. He began his career as a model maker, building light-sabers and practical props for the Star Wars prequels, before moving into directing, animation and visual effects across film and television. He is the co-founder of Stage23, a visual effects and post-production studio at Disney Studios’ Entertainment Quarter.

Debney’s most recent short film, Starship which he created single-handed won multiple awards, including at the Beverly Hills Film Festival. Under the Stage 23 banner, Debney is currently developing a slate of original projects, with a focus on story-driven genre filmmaking and technically ambitious production.
