Biography

John Dearth was born on October 16, 1920 in West Ham, London, England, UK. He was an actor, known for The Avengers (1961), The Escape of R.D.7 (1961) and The Adventures of Robin Hood (1955). He died on March 17, 1984 in London, England, UK.

He once lost a lead film part because the producer felt Dearth bore too close a resemblance to James Mason. Barry Letts stated on the DVD commentary of "Planet of the Spiders" that this experience embittered him for the rest of his life.

He was the father of actress Lynn Dearth.

He was a member of the BBC Radio Repertory Company during the 1960's.
