Biography

Michael Deakin was born on February 21, 1939 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, UK. He was a writer and producer, known for Tom Grattan's War (1968), Act of Betrayal (1988) and The Village by the Sea (1991). He died on June 29, 2022.

He was motivated to make Johnny Go Home: End of the Line/The Murder of Billy Two-Tone (1975), a documentary about homeless children living on the streets of London who were led into a life of theft and prostitution, when he stumbled over boys sleeping in the doorway of an editing suite after working late on an Alan Whicker programme.
