La Comtesse de Ségur was born on August 1, 1799 in St. Petersburg, Russian Empire [now Russia]. La Comtesse was a writer, known for Un bon petit diable (1923), Les Vacances (1924) and Les malheurs de Sophie (1946). La Comtesse was married to Eugène de Ségur. La Comtesse died on February 9, 1874 in Paris, France.

She and her husband had 8 children: Gaston in 1820, Renaud in 1821, Anatole in 1823, Edgar in 1825, Nathalie in 1827, twins Sabine and Henriette in 1829, and Olga in 1835. They had 20 grandchildren. Children are one of the main themes of her novels.
