Lorraine De Selle is an Italian actress , television producer and screenwriter with Australian citizenship and naturalised French citizenship .

Lorraine De Selle lived in Italy until the age of 16, in 1968, when, following the death of her parents, she moved to Australia . She remained in Australia until 1975; after finishing school, Lorraine De Selle went to work as a reporter for a newspaper for three years. Afterwards, for two years, she wrote a television column for an Australian magazine.

She began acting in 1976: her popularity in Italy is mainly due to her participation in cult films, such as La casa sperduta nel parco (1980) by Ruggero Deodato and Cannibal Ferox (1981) by Umberto Lenzi .

Fernando di Leo's directed her in 1978, offering her the lead role in "Vacanze per un massacro" (Madness), in which she co-starred with the Andy Warhol's former gay idol of the films Joe Dallesandro. Uninspired, this story, with its evocative but rather disappointing title, merely shows Lorraine mostly in her birthday suit, dancing, twirling, and, most notably, masturbating in front of a camera during an unforgettable scene.

She founded, with Gianni Hecht Lucari, the Junior Film International, with which she produced "Linda and the Brigadier", five episodes of "Piazza di Spagna", four episodes of "La famiglia Ricordi", four episodes of "Rally", and the film "An Australian in Rome" (1987) by Sergio Martino, with Nicole Kidman.

Having worked with directors such as Joe D'Amato, Fernando di Leo, Ruggero Deodato and Umberto Lenzi, she remains best known for her roles in the horror films The House on the Edge of the Park and Cannibal Ferox, co-starring with Giovanni Lombardo Radice in both.

In addition to her acting career, De Selle has dedicated herself to the production of important television series, such as Carabinieri (68 episodes, from 2002 to 2008) and other lesser-known films, including the film about the Cuban Revolution L'oro di Cuba and Al di là del lago (TV film).

In 1978 she posed nude for the Italian edition of Playboy.
