- Paulo de Oliveira has had a 25+ year career as a television programming executive and producer, working at media companies including HBO, Disney and NBC Universal, and on shows such as Outlander, Monk, Psych, Battlestar Galactica and Eureka.
Paulo produced the Outlander TV series based on Diana Gabaldon's best-selling books, which he sold to Starz in concert with Sony TV and showrunner Ronald D. Moore, creator of Battlestar Galactica. The show was initially picked up for a straight-to-series, first season 16 episode order on which he was Co-Executive Producer, receiving multiple renewals and global awards.
Until recently he was a series development consultant for MBC Studios, the production arm of Middle East Broadcast Center, the biggest media company in the MENA region. Based in Dubai, Paulo advised the studio on acquisition of I.P. as well as writing/directing/acting talent from the US for groundbreaking English/Arabic language shows.
As SVP Scripted Development and Executive Producer for the leading Canadian production company Omnifilm Entertainment, he developed and was an E.P. on the series The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco for US streamer Britbox, City TV, ITV and Netflix International.
Previously he spent over a decade at Universal Television and NBC Universal, where he was ultimately Senior Vice-President, Cable Programming. There he developed and supervised cable TV series for USA Network and SyFy Channel, including USA's hit shows Monk and Psych, as well as SyFy's breakout series Eureka and Battlestar Galactica. He was also the on-set creative producer of the first season of Eureka and the pilot of Psych.
