Biography

Emmanuel de Graffenried was born on May 18, 1914 in Paris, France. He is known for The Racers (1955), 1947 French Grand Prix (1947) and 1949 British Grand Prix (1949). He died on January 22, 2007 in Lonay, Lausanne, Switzerland.

Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: Enrico Plate (1950 (4 GPs))-1951 (2 GPs)-1952 (3 GPs)), Alfa Romeo (1951 (3 GPs)), Emmanuel de Graffenried (1953 (7 GPs)-1954 (2 GPs)) and Scuderia Centro Sud (1956 (1 GP)). He started 22 Grands Prix and 9 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 8th in 1953.

Teammates in Formula One were: Birabongse Bhanudej, Giuseppe Farina, Juan Manuel Fangio, Consalvo Sanesi, Harry Schell, Paul Pietsch, Felice Bonetto, Alberto Crespo and Ottorino Volonterio.
