Biography

Mairtín de Barra joined Tailored in 2022, and has many years of experience in the film and TV industries. He is currently spearheading the company’s expanded focus on TV drama. He has produced series for RTÉ, BBC, and broadcasters in Belgium and Canada, as well as working on feature films in the Tailored slate.

His most recent producing credits are ‘Hokum’, and ‘Der Irland Krimi’. He has also worked for Tailored on ‘The Apprentice’ and ‘Bring Them Down’. He is currently prepping a number of projects for 2026/7.

Alongside his work as a creative and financial producer, he has a very varied practical skillset in the film and TV industry, working in the capacity of production manager and location manager on numerous award winning series over the years.

Work he has directed is Emmy and Kidscreen nominated, and he has directed a number of factual series and documentaries for the BBC.

He is a graduate of EAVE and Screen Leaders, was a selected Producer on 2024's ACE Series Special, and one of the selected Irish Producers on CInelink.

He has a large skillset across budgeting, finance plans, practical producing, working with talent and finding opportunity.
