During WW2, she worked at Bletchley Park with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0548896/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Leo Marks</a>.

She was a close friend of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0711905/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Terence Rattigan</a>, and is said to have inspired the character of Anne Shankland in his play and film &quot;Separate Tables&quot;.
