- Don S. Davis was born on August 4, 1942 in Aurora, Missouri, USA. He was an actor, known for The Fan (1996), A League of Their Own (1992) and Twin Peaks (1990). He was married to Ruby Fleming-Davis and Sondra Sue Davis. He died on June 29, 2008 in Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada.

- He was the only person to have an actual military service record on Stargate SG-1 (1997).
- A former captain in the US Army, stationed in Korea in the later 1960s.
- Worked with Richard Dean Anderson before the Stargate SG-1 (1997) series; he was Dana Elcar's body double on MacGyver (1985) and played roles as a cement truck driver and illegal hunter Wyatt Porter. Before his untimely death one month later, his final appearance was with Rick in Stargate: Continuum (2008).
- Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, including a double major in theatre and art from Southwest Missouri State College in 1965. Graduated with an MA in Theatre from Southern Illinois University in 1970. Taught for ten years at the University of British Columbia, then completed his PhD in theatre at SIU in 1982.
- Was also a skilled artist and wood craftsman.
- I like sci-fi because it's really one of the last places or genres that has clearly defined good and evil, and it's a place where you can have heroes without them having to be overly flawed.
