Biography

Hywel Davies was born on February 2, 1919 in Llandysul, Wales, UK. He was a writer, known for Home Town (1952), Gala Performance (1963) and Show Place (1956). He was married to Davies, Lorraine. He died on October 16, 1965.

Assistant Head of Programmes, Welsh Region from 1948 who was previously a newsreader and announcer and still occasionally did some commentary work. His wife, Lorraine Davies, was Children's Hour Organizer, Welsh Region.

He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2004 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to Music and to International Relations. He is the former Chairman of Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.
