Biography

A boho Irish, Aztec lass, as a child, Cyanne was drawn to Shakespeare, initially teaching herself to read with the Bard's Complete Works. Then at age 6, she fell into acting (literally) when she was cast as a faerie in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, West, while there, Cyanne quickly learned that she was able to improvise in verse, as needed - something she did in both their production of Macbeth and Love's Labours Lost. Her final show, Season's Greetings by Alan Ayckbourn, garnered her and the rest of the cast the 2nd standing ovation ever at the AADA West campus.

Ironically, Cyanne later became a student of Paul Parker at a similar acronym - AIDA - the Australia Institute of Dramatic Arts. A member of his Master Class, during this time she (1) was a founding member of sketch comedy troop, The Unmentionables, (2) did Stand Up and opened for Margaret Cho at the Hollywood Improv, (3) toured San Francisco and New York in AIDA's biggest Acting Showcase to date. AND she even met her husband!

But it was her breakout MVP Winning turn as Ophelia in Hamlet that led to her auspicious big screen debut as Dionysus' mischievous fae maenad, Daphne in Brad Mays and John Morrissey's The Bacchae. Ironically, the film's casting director nicknamed her Tinkerbell in her audition, which still sticks to this day. Cyanne has landed stand out roles & won multiple awards on both stage and screen throughout her career. Also a writer, her award winning one woman show, I Died... I Came Back...Whatever! garnered a completely sold out run back in 2015, and is now in the works to become a film. Since then, McClairian and her husband, Matthew Martin, have continued to produce pieces for both mediums via their company, Fearless Imp Entertainment. Their production of Surviving Macbeth created such a buzz that a number of local teachers incorporated it into their curriculum.

Inspired by the #MeToo movement and the climate of "he said, she said," this powerful twist on the Scottish Play was 100% true to text and took a very real look at the effects of rape, through Shakespeare's lens. Starring as Lady M, Cyanne received an outpouring of local acclaim for her gut wrenching performance in the complex role. A huge advocate for survivors of sex trafficking, sexual assault and abuse, this subject is very close to her heart. She also recently got certified as an Intimacy Coordinator.
