- Sam Dastor was born on October 2, 1941 in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, British India. He was an actor, known for The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004), Space: 1999 (1975) and Jinnah (1998). He was married to Angela Platten. He died on June 5, 2026.

- Studied English at Cambridge University before winning a scholarship to RADA. He later joined the National Theatre, then under the direction of Sir Laurence Olivier.
