Jayshankar Danve was a real true hearten Marathi Artist with deep serious voice , he was very passionate about movies and stage acts. He was really very exited for stage act.. Just for this he use to visit "Laxmi Talkies" in Pune , this talkies is now known as Globe talkies. Mr. Bhalji Pendharkar noticed him and invited him to be part of "Subodh Natak Company" which was run by Sohrab Modi's brother Rustum Modi. Thereafter he acted in stage act"Asuri Lalsa" which was writen by Mr. Bhalji Pendharkar. Once in Mumbai there was a planned show of Marathi act " Satv- Safalya" which was produced by same company but due to some unfortunate reason on the last moment the main hero of that act met with an accident and at that point of time Mr. Jayshakar Danve took over that act and performed excellence. He started his own company named" Natya Nishan" in association with his mentor Mr.Benjamin and produced and directed many stage acts. Over the period of time, there was slack in stage programs due to impact of audio visual movies. Then he migrated to Kolhapur and took part in "Samrat Cinetone" He acted in various Marathi Movies " Mazi Ladki" ,"Narad Naradi", he also acted in one of the hindi movie "Aavaj" along with legend Motilal. He was very effective artist and mostly acted as anti-hero roles.. In may consequences he faced anger of audience as his acting skills were almost real.. He did villain role in movie named "Patlacha Por" which was directed by Dinkar D. Patil. That role was so effective that audience was angry on him and he some how escaped from the premier show of the movie. In one of the other movie " Mazi Aai " .. he acted as mill manager.. the kind of cruelty he acted during the shooting.. the real mill workers were very raised there hands to beat him.. In 1986 he passed away while he was just 76 .. in his home in Kolhapur.
