Charles Dale was born on 6 September 1881 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor, known for Manhattan Parade (1931), A Nag in the Bag (1938) and Nob Hill (1945). He was married to Molly Cahill. He died on 17 November 1971 in Teaneck, New Jersey, USA.

Neil Simon based his Broadway play, and later film The Sunshine Boys
(1975), on the career of Smith &amp; Dale.
