Biography

Paulinho Da Costa was born on May 31, 1948 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is an actor and producer, known for The Rundown (2003), Eraser (1996) and The Mexican (2001).

Famous Brazilian percussionist who has contributed with countless artists from around the world such as Ivan Lins, César Camargo Mariano, Elton John, Christopher Cross, Diana Krall, Rita Lee, Céline Dion, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Prince, Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson, Marcus Miller, Maria Bethânia, João Bosco, Nancy Wilson, Herb Alpert, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, just to mention a few; and also contributed with several film soundtracks as well.

He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 1709 Vine Street in Hollywood, California on May 13, 2026. Musician Larry Dunn and Walk of Fame inductee Ray Parker Jr. were guest speakers at the ceremony. His Walk of Fame star is located near the corner of Hollywood and Vine.
