Biography

Ryszard Czekala was born on March 5, 1941 in Bydgoszcz, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Poland. He was a writer and director, known for Zofia (1976), Syn (1970) and The Roll-Call (1971). He died on October 30, 2010 in Kraków, Malopolskie, Poland.

Returned to animated films in 1985

Ptak (Bird), his 1968 animated film debut was banned by censors for its gloomy presentation of reality.
