Biography

Richard C. Currier was born on August 26, 1892 in Denver, Colorado, USA. He was an editor and director, known for Leave It to the Irish (1944), The Cosmic Man (1959) and Flying with Music (1942). He was married to Sarah Cordelia Marsh. He died on December 14, 1984 in El Toro, California, USA.

As head of Hal Roach Studios editing department from 1920-32, he was the credited editor of virtually all the company's releases during that period (Laurel & Hardy, "Our Gang", etc.). Currier claimed he was abruptly fired by Roach general manager Henry Ginsberg for refusing Ginsberg's demand that he spy on co-workers suspected of wasting studio money. He later worked for Paramount and Monogram before starting his own production company.
