He had to fill in for Jeremy Irons during the song "Be Prepared" in The Lion King (1994). Irons threw out his voice after singing, "You won't get a sniff without me!".

Only actor to appear in every animated series produced by Disney during the '90s. These include Gargoyles (1994), Goof Troop (1992), Darkwing Duck (1991), Aladdin (1994) and Bonkers (1993).

The family of the late Louis Prima (who voiced King Louie in The Jungle Book (1967)) sued Disney because Cummings did too good of a job impersonating Prima when he voiced the character in the TV series spin off, TaleSpin (1990). As a result, King Louie was completely absent from The Jungle Book 2 (2003) and was replaced by a knockoff named "King Larry" in the TV series House of Mouse (2001) who was also voiced by Cummings.

Has taken over two of Sterling Holloway's characters. He took over the as the voice of Winnie the Pooh after Holloway's death and took over for the voice of Kaa in The Jungle Book 2 (2003).

In an interview with Disney comics he cited Darkwing Duck and Don Karnage as two of his favorite roles, stating "they're both probably the closest to me - I kinda improvise a lot of them, kinda ad-lib".

Gave up an opportunity to meet Sterling Holloway. While in a restaurant he heard the veteran actor's signature voice request a bowl of clam chowder. Jim recognized it immediately but he didn't go up to him as he feared he would have been too excited and would have scared the elderly Holloway. He later said he kind of wished he had.

Role as the voice-over actor in Mark Hamill's Comic Book: The Movie (2004) is his only full-bodied, live-action role to date.

He was also the 1991 alternate of the Shredder for the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) series, which is also the same show where he voiced Leatherhead the mutant alligator.

His favorite Disney roles are Pete (main favorite role), Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Darkwing Duck, Ray, and Hondo Ohnaka.

He has appeared in four films that have been selected for the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant: Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), The Little Mermaid (1989), The Lion King (1994), & Shrek (2001).

Distinguishes himself from Paul Winchell by giving Tigger a slight lisp.

Of all the direct to video and theatrical Winnie the Pooh films in which he voiced the titular character and Tigger, he considers The Tigger Movie (2000) to be his all time favorite.

A fan of Sonic the Hedgehog (1993) got Jim Cummings to say "Snooping as usual I see" in his Robotnik voice because of how popular the quote became on the internet also known as "Snoo-Pingas usual I see".

Is not related to Brian Cummings.

Jim Cummings shows up in Stephen Spielbergs film Hook as an Easter egg in the song Give us the Hook by John Williams.
