- Amilda "Kiyo" Cuddy, in the early 1940s, was the girlfriend/mistress of Dr. George Hill Hodel, who in 1947-1950 would become the prime suspect in the murder of Elizabeth "Black Dahlia" Short. Kiyo lived in residence part-time at Dr. Hodel's "Sowden/Franklin House" and remained in close contact with him until he fled the country as he was about to be arrested for multiple murders by the LADA's office. In a bizarre twist of fate, Kiyo, a dozen years later in 1962, would marry Dr. Hodel's young twenty-year-old son Steve Hodel. Hodel, encouraged by Kiyo would then join the LAPD, become a homicide detective and upon the death of his father some thirty-eight years later, would begin an investigation that resulted in the publication of a NYT Bestseller, "Black Dahlia Avenger: A Genius for Murder" proving his father killed "the Black Dahlia" as well as committing other LA Lone Woman Murders in the 1940s. In 2003, post-publication of his book, the LADA office released secret DA Hodel Black Dahlia Files, confirming Dr. George Hill Hodel had been the prime suspect in the Dahlia murder all along.
