David Hasselhoff performed a tribute song at Michael's funeral which was held on 17 January 2001. Michael had guest starred alongside him in an episode of Baywatch (1989).

All four of his 2gether band mates, Noah Bastian, Kevin P. Farley, Evan Farmer, and Alex Solowitz were in attendance at his wake and funeral services. They were all heavily affected by his death.

Founded "The Michael Cuccione Foundation", a childhood cancer research foundation in 1995. He also co-authored a book with his grandmother in 1998 entitled, "There Are Survivors: The Michael Cuccione Story".

His first diagnosis of Hodgkin's disease was in July 1994 at 9 1/2. He required six months of chemotherapy which put it into remission.

Favorite movies were Titanic (1997), The Godfather (1972) series and The Green Mile (1999).

Met and was blessed by Pope John Paul II on 18 September 1998 following a mass at St. Peter's Square in Rome, Italy. He stated in an interview it was the greatest moment of his life.

The book "Anthology of Awesomeness: The Official 2Gether Scrapbook", a book about his band, was released after his passing and was dedicated to him by the film and show's executive producers, Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn.

His second bout with Hodgkin's came six months after and metastasized to his lungs. He required strong massive dozes of chemotherapy, a bone-marrow transplant and twelve radiation treatments around his heart and lungs with no guarauntee of survival. He did survive and the cancer was cured, but the tratments left him with permanent lung complications that would eventually lead to his death.

Composed a 5 song album called "Make A Difference". The songs were written by Michael during his battle with cancer. The songs that are on the album are 1. Make A Difference 2. Don't Wanna Say Goodbye 3. Lock The Door 4. Never Give Up 5. When You Are Away.

His parents, Domenic and Gloria continue to run his foundation, keeping his memory and legacy alive.

Although his 2gether character/alter ego, Jason 'QT' McKnight was labeled as 'The Cute One', he referred to him and himself personally as "the dewy-eyed youngster".

Was not able to eat or speak while hospitalized prior to his passing due to the respiratory tubes, but he still managed to communicate with his family through notes and they learned to read his lips and eyes.

Passed away peacefully according to his family, at 9:31pm PST at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

His activism and creation of his fund had earned him many humanitarian awards such as BCTV's Saturday Child, Vancouver Leader of Tomorrow award and a YTV achievement award. As of December 2000 his foundation had raised $500,000 Canadian.

Was very active in sports growing up. He played soccer in his youth.

His mother Gloria stated in an interview that within the hour before his passing he kept saying "I'm sorry" to every one of his family members as well as, "Don't leave me". Gloria said she told Michael that he had nothing to be sorry for, that he did everything he could for the world and that she would see him again.

Had to film several of 2gether: The Series (2000)'s season two episodes with an oxygen tank nearby due to his respiratory problems. He was also noticeably absent from the last few episodes of the show due to such as well.

Is interred in an outdoor mausoleum in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.

Was one of three children. He had an older sister, Sophia and a younger brother, Steven.

Was of Italian descent.
