    LeAnna Carter Croom
  • Height
    5′ 6½″ (1.69 m)

Biography

  • Once described by Sidney Lumet as a great actress, LeAnna Croom is an American who was born in Landstuhl, Germany, to Susan Gale Bays, an interior designer, and Oliver "O.L." Croom, an Army Captain. The youngest of two children, LeAnna is of English, French, German, Scandinavian, and Scots-Irish ancestry. Her parents divorced when she was nine.

LeAnna was raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where, as a youngster, she became awestruck by the stage and began performing in regional theatre. She attended the pre-conservatory training at Boston University Theatre Institute. LeAnna was awarded a scholarship to The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (BFA) and holds an MFA from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

While working in the theatre in New York City, LeAnna made her feature film debut as Rebecca in Twentieth Century Fox's Someone Like You, directed by Tony Goldwyn.

She made her television debut as Penny O'Rourke in Brooklyn South, a police drama created by Steven Bochco, Bill Clark, David Milch, and William M. Finkelstein for CBS.
