Identical twin sisters Beverly Crane and Betty Mae Crane were born in west north-western capital city of Salt Lake City, Utah, on Wednesday, April 11, 1917. Both sisters expressed an interest in music and dancing at an early age and by age 9 they had established their two-girl act on stage and in films. By age 13 they were contracted to Hal Roach to perform talking titles for at least 6 short films but never shared any screen time with any of the other actors. Their biggest break came when they were cast in the Broadway production of Ole Olsen and Chic Johnson's "Hellzapoppin". which was said to be even crazier than the film version. While in New York, Beverly met and fell in love with Earl "Pat" Trees, who was in the Army Air Corps. When he was posted to Texas, Beverly left show business and joined him there and they were married; they then moved to Peru until the outbreak of WWII, when Earl was transferred to Florida, then to Dayton, Ohio in 1943. After several more moves they settled in Columbus in 1956 with their children. Betty Mae finished the Broadway run of "Hellzapoppin" and returned to California, where she married, but her husband was killed soon after in a plane crash. She remarried in 1942, retired from show business, and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Her husband predeceased her and she died of pneumonia in 1983.

Twin sister of Betty Mae Crane. They appeared together in many 'Hal Roach' comedy shorts starring Laurel & Hardy and The Little Rascals. They also appeared together in musical films.

She and her sister Betty Mae filmed talking titles for the Laurel and Hardy film 'Their First Mistake' but this was re edited and eventually released as 'Pardon Us' but without the girls contribution.

Attended the Lawlor Professional School for young performers, under the tutelage of Viola F. Lawlor.

The Mentone News reported, in an item published on August 14, 1941, that Beverly had "married and moved to Peru," while her sister Betty Mae Crane continued with a solo career.
