Biography

Vivian Cox was born on July 21, 1915 in Bangalore, India. She was a producer and writer, known for Deadly Record (1959), The Clouded Yellow (1950) and Tread Softly (1952). She died on April 27, 2009 in Ewhurst, Surrey, England, UK.

Vivian used to be a teacher at Cranleigh School, Surrey in the 70s.

For eight years, from 1959, Cox worked as an independent producer and screenwriter for the J. Arthur Rank Organisation.

Was the son of a civil servant.

In 1940, as a Royal Navy sub-lieutenant, he worked in the Admiralty War Room. He set up the floating map room for Winston Churchill in the battleship 'Duke of York' and subsequently accompanied the prime minister to Washington, where Roosevelt's request, he established a similar map room in the White House. In 1942, Cox was appointed Junior Staff Officer (Flag Lieutenant) to Vice Admiral Bruce Fraser, second-in-command of the Home Fleet in the battleship Anson.
