- Deborah Couples was the ex-wife of golfer Fred Couples. She suffered injuries in three separate serious accidents in a two year span and was in constant pain. Friends say it got to where she couldn't eat or sleep. Depressed and thinking she could not continue her acting career, she jumped from the roof of the Kresge Chapel of the Claremont (CA) School of Theology. Fred Couples remarried in 1998.
