Biography

Phil Coulter was born on February 1, 1942 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, UK. He is a composer and actor, known for Last Night in Soho (2021), Did You Hear About the Morgans? (2009) and The Snowman (2017). He is married to Geraldine. They have six children. He was previously married to Angela Coulter.

Attended St. Columb's Roman Catholic College, Londonderry, as did John Hume, Richard Doherty, Brian Friel, Seamus Heaney & Seamus Deane, to name a few.

Father was a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

Studied at Queen's University, Belfast.

One of Coulter's most famous songs "The Town I Loved So Well" (released in 1973) was popularized by folk singer Luke Kelly, one of the members of Ireland's most famous ballad group The Dubliners.
