Montana born, Idaho raised, Carol Cortne spent her early years in the wide open spaces; snow-skiing, horseback riding, hiking, hunting and river rafting. It never occurred to this outdoor girl that women wore anything other than boots - that is, until she stepped out of the mountains and into the big city. It was there, in a moment of metamorphosis that she decided to trade her spurs in for high heels and in that instant, Carol was transformed from a hunter, into the hunted. Seemingly overnight the tall blonde's leggy frame became a target of photographer's lens. And in a flash, the fashion runways, on which her high-heels walked, led her to the Salt Lake City branch of the Ford Modeling Agency. Feeling comfortable in the spotlight Carol enrolled in the University of Utah, where she majored in Musical Theatre. It was an experience. The stage became her second home. But under all the make-up, she was still an outdoor girl. So when the opportunity arose to learn the acrobatic art of aerial ballet snow skiing, Carol kicked off her heels, snapped on her ski's and 'schussed' to California. The West coast's wide open spaces offered Carol an endless variety of opportunities. In between ski runs she got her 'spotlight fix' as a member of an all-female rock band. The exposure she received touring the Pacific Coast and Canada led to an even larger musical revue that took her to Mexico and the Caribbean. But eventually even Carol had to settle down. Donning her heels once more, she called upon her hunting skills and quickly bagged a position with a real estate firm. Her role?
  • promoting the great outdoors of ... Beverly Hills. It was there,
during a fateful business luncheon, that she was introduced to Cathy Crosby, (Bing's niece); who was up for a role in a feature film that was "still looking for the star-a beauty that can sing" In no time Carol was auditioning for Josef and Mary Bogdanovich. The competition was formidable, (Priscilla Presley and Genie Francis, no less). But the outdoor hunter was just the girl they had been hunting for; and once again Carol Cortne was in the sights of a camera lens, staring in her first feature, "BOXOFFICE". Carol co-wrote one of the film's most memorable songs, "The Ode to David Begleman" . Using the momentum of that experience, this model-actress-singer founded her own Band, CC Roller and began writing and recording her own material. Other notable music artists Carol's performed with are, Jimmy Z (sax), Steve Ferone (drums), Miles Joseph (guitar) and Steve Goomis (keyboards) Never one to stand still, Carol is constantly exploring the wide open spaces of opportunity. Currently, she is not only completing the musical compositions for her screenplay, 'A SECOND CHANCE' , she has also stepped into the shoes of 'Director'; overseeing her two most promising, on-going productions - her children, Rok and Montana.
