Karina Palmer

Overview

  • Birth name
    Karina Palmer

Biography

  • Karina Palmer is an American actress, television host, and filmmaker. Born in Bogotá, Colombia to a photographer mother and a writer father, she grew up immersed in the arts-studying music, acting in youth theater, and developing an early love for storytelling. She moved to New York City with her family and later attended the School of Visual Arts, graduating with honors for her documentary on celebrated animator Bill Plympton. Karina (Correa) Palmer first gained national visibility as a content producer and on-camera host for Current TV, the network created by Al Gore, Joel Hyatt, and Ron Burkle. After the network's closure-and following a period inspired by life in coastal Spain-she co-founded Bikinis, a restaurant on Manhattan's Lower East Side (2011-2015). During this time, she also worked as a freelance food and travel writer before returning to Colombia as the Spanish-language host of the series I Love Sabor USA, produced by Channel 13, which aired from 2015 to 2017. Karina began acting in national theater at a young age and continued her training in method acting. Her recent screen work includes the role of Luisa, the head of the DEA, in the Netflix Original Series Alias JJ: Surviving Escobar (2018). She also appeared as a background performer in Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another (2025), where she received on-screen credit under the name "Sister Karina".
