Biography

Jay Corcoran was born on October 16, 1958 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is a director and actor, known for Undetectable (2001), Rock Bottom: Gay Men & Meth (2006) and Rock Bottom (2006).

Corcoran was a digital content producer at Columbia Business School. Taught documentary filmmaking at the Gateway School in New York City. Was a Reel Works filmmaking teaching artist at the Brownsville Community Justice Center & taught filmmaking & storytelling at The Campus (an after-school tech program), both in Brooklyn.

Corcoran has had screenings at the Museum of Modern Art, Lincoln Center, Guggenheim Museum, Boston's Museum of Fine Arts, the Kitchen, & at over 100 national & international film festivals. His films have made the critic's choice lists in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Weekly, Boston Globe, New York Magazine & many other publications.

Corcoran's extremely powerful & timely documentary, Life & Death on the A-List followed Tom McBride in the final months of his life. McBride, an openly gay man, died in 1995 due to complications from AIDS-related brain disease, only 2 weeks prior to his 43rd birthday.

Corcoran has contributed to online magazines, NYC24, Crain's New York Business & TechCrunch. He has also produced numerous Internet video series on the MBA job-search process for Columbia Business School.
