He was born in Barcelona to José Corbalán de Paul and Águeda Soler Herrera. He lived and studied there and got married to Ana Dolors Amigó Peiró in 1961. In 1962 they had their first daughter Ana, and her second daughter Gemma in 1964. In 1968 his workplace (Estudios Orphea, Barcelona) burned, and they had to move to Pozuelo, Madrid, which led to him retiring from the film industry. Shortly after that, they moved to the center of Madrid where his last son, Jose, was born, in 1969. He lived in Madrid and worked in graphic arts until his death in 1997.

During his whole life he was an enthusiast of jazz, specially of Frank Sinatra.
