- Yves Coppens was born on August 9, 1934 in Vannes, Morbihan, France. He was a writer and assistant director, known for One Woman or Two (1985), Les derniers secrets de l'humanité (2024) and Le peuple singe (1989). He died on June 22, 2022 in Paris, France.
- French prehistorian, he is one of the co-discoverers in 1974 of Lucy (Australopithecus afarensis) in along with Donald Carl Johanson and Maurice Taieb.
