Frank Conroy was born on October 14, 1890 in Derby, Derbyshire, England, UK. He was an actor, known for The Ox-Bow Incident (1943), The Snake Pit (1948) and The Adventures of Martin Eden (1942). He was married to Helen Robbins. He died on February 24, 1964 in Paramus, New Jersey, USA.

English-born character actor who played figures of authority. Easily his best performance was as the hate-driven former Confederate Major Tetley, leading the lynch mob in 'The Ox-Bow Incident' (1943).

Received the 1957 'Supporting or Featured Actor (Dramatic)' Tony Award for his performance in Graham Greene's "The Potting Shed".

Was in four Oscar Best Picture nominees: Grand Hotel (1932), The White Parade (1934), The Ox-Bow Incident (1943) and The Snake Pit (1948), with only the first of these winning.

Survived by his widow, Ruth, and a son, Richard.
