- Teaching English Literature at his alma mater in Florida (2001)
- Younger brother of writer Steve Conrad ( Wrestling Ernest Hemingway (1993) and The Promotion (2008)). Their mother, Bernice, taught 7th grade at a Catholic middle school in Florida.
